Playdates

Miss Sasha had two playdates in the past two days! On Friday, we trekked out to Hoboken to meet with four other mommies and their babies. It was such a beautiful day out, so we hung out in the park by the water and got some fresh air and sunshine. The kiddos were all so cute in their spring wear and had fun playing with each other's toys.

Today, Y and I, along with Miss Sasha met with a fellow mommy, her daughter and husband (and two adorable puppies, who seemed quite fond of Sasha and licked her hands). We went to Coney Island and just strolled along the Boardwalk. It was again a beautiful day, though maybe just a bit too hot (we had to take Sasha's outfit off and let her hang out in her diaper, which she utterly enjoyed).

Swing fun and new tricks

Since daddy was home yesterday, we decided to go to a nearby park to let Sasha go on the swings. She had such a blast! At first she wasn't sure what to make of the experience, but within a few minutes she was smiling and giggling. It was so much fun watching her enjoy the swing. And it made me a little sad that we don't have a backyard with the swing/slide set for her to enjoy.

And as for her new tricks, Sasha said "papa" Saturday night!! Dad was reading her a book at her bedtime and she just said it! He didn't hear it unfortunately, but I did. It just melted my heart! And yesterday, she managed to pull herself up from sitting to standing position!! We tried to get her to repeat it (for the camera, lol), but this is all we got!

We're back from Boston

We had such a wonderful weekend away. It's always so nice to go back to Boston, and always so sad to leave it. We got in Thursday pretty late, but Miss Sasha (ok, and I) slept a lot throughout the ride there, and we went right to sleep.
Friday morning we went to the pool and Sasha had such a great time splashing and swimming with us. We met up with daddy's friend Craig for lunch and then went to the top of the Prudential building to check out the aerial view of Boston. Friday night, we had dinner with uncle Steve near Harvard at an Indian place, which was yummy (although I have to say, when I ask a waiter if what I'm about to order is spicy, only tell me it's not if it's really not)

Saturday morning we went swimming again (this time we meant to bring the camera, but completely forgot, did on Sunday though, so pictures to follow). We then met with a bunch of my friends for lunch at Cheesecake factory (yum). We were planning to go see the ducklings in the public garden that day too, but it was rainy so we postponed that until Sunday. For dinner, we met with some more of my friends. Overall, another fun day!

On Sunday morning, we finally got some pictures from the pool! We did make it to the Public Garden to see the ducklings, but since it was very windy, we didn't stay long. Then we had lunch with Z's friend Victor before heading back home in the afternoon.

Bye-bye, Boston!

We're going to Boston!

We just booked our very first trip with little Miss Sasha this morning: we're going to visit Boston this weekend. Walk around the city a bit, visit with friends, and of course, go see the ducklings in the Boston Common. Daddy's been reading Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey to Sasha before her bed and now she gets to meet them (although I just read this morning that one of the ducklings has been stolen - seriously, people?) I'm a bit nervous as to how it's all going to go and how Sasha will deal with the drive and so many people (we seriously have so many people to see - I don't know if we'll even fit them all in). But I'm so excited!

Seven months!

That's right, Miss Sasha's 7 months old (as of yesterday). She's growing up so fast and right in front of our eyes too, it's wonderful. She's trying to figure out the whole crawling thing as I type this: she gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, it really looks like she's trying to move herself forward, but hasn't realized that she needs to move one arm at a time and then one leg at a time too. She can stand holding on to something for a couple of minutes now. Without doing her oh-so-cute butt wiggle. She's extremely vocal and likes to shriek (and when I shriek back at her, she waits for me to finish, then shrieks again, and waits for me to do it again!). Her favorites currently are "tatata", "lalala", "aya", and "gaga", repeated over and over again.

Some pictures from yesterday

Swimming lesson yesterday went very well (better than I expected). Sasha was a little sleepy, but other than that, she did just fine in the water. I was afraid she'd be the crying freaking out kid in the group, but she only got a little upset when some water got into her face. Daddy didn't get there until half-way through the session (he was trying to park the car), so we don't have a lot of pictures, but hopefully next time we'll get some more. She looked absolutely precious in her little swimsuit though!





High-fiving the instructor! I've been teaching her how to do it for the past week or so, and this is the first time she actually did it (almost) excitedly! It was so cute to see that.

In the afternoon, we went to grandma and grandpa A's house for grandma's birthday party. It was so much fun and Sasha did her usual "rounds" with everybody!

Going swimming tomorrow

Tomorrow afternoon we start Sasha's swimming lessons. I'm a bit nervous, since I'll be the one going with her (we're planning to try to get daddy in there too to get some photos, so look out for those at the end of the weekend). Everyone I know who's done swimming lessons with their little ones rave about their experience, in fact, my sister, auntie Anna, started hers when she was only 2 months old! The benefits of these are countless and I'm really excited we finally found a class. This weekend is probably going to get a bit crazy again, but I'll post pictures as soon as I can.
