Fun-filled weekend!

We had such a fun-filled weekend! Not only was it a (sort of) long weekend - Z had to work half a day on Friday, which seems rather silly, but we did get to hang out a bit more Friday evening. Saturday, we went over to Z's grandparents' for an early Hanukkah dinner (complete with latkes and other deliciously unhealthy foods).

On Sunday, we headed over to Sasha's cousin Emily's birthday party.

Hope you all had a wonderful long weekend as well!

Our turkey day in pictures

One of my favorite pictures of the whole evening - my sister and Sasha playing before turkey was served

Then at some point, Sasha lost one of her balls and everybody went looking for it under the couch!
 Silly cousins!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

I want to wish everyone a very happy and family-filled (but hopefully drama-less) Thanksgiving day. We have just so much to be thankful for this year: our health, our little family, our extended families, Z's amazing job that lets me stay home with Sasha, Sasha's amazing school that lets me stay somewhat sane, and our amazing friends who overlook our insane moments. I hope every one of you gets to spend a wonderful day with friends and family, eat some wonderful food, and be thankful!

Having a yucky week!

Sitting here having a pity party. We've been so sick this week and had a miserable few days. When I say "we", thankfully, I mean my husband and I. Sasha seems to have some sort of a super power immune system (ha, I just totally jinxed her, didn't I?) We've sent her to school every day this week (tomorrow, she'll be home with me) - so that she won't catch all our yucky germ. We're both finally feeling better, but it's been very yucky few days.
Here is a cute picture of the kiddo, to make up for my whining.

What a fun weekend!

We had a lovely weekend. On Saturday, we visited Jon and Grace out in Connecticut, where we played Apples to Apples (seriously hilarious!) and Sasha got to play with their kitty Zed (she tried to feed him cookies!)

On Sunday, we met up with my parents, grandma, and sister and her fiance at the Grounds for Sculpture in NJ

Sorry for the picture overload, but they came out so good, I had to share!

First visit to the dentist was a success!

I took Sasha to the dentist for the first time today. I gotta say I was so nervous she wouldn't open her mouth and cry instead, but she did beautifully! She was shy and didn't want anything to do with the doctor at first, but as soon as the doctor gave her a flashing toothbrush, she let her take a look at her little teeth. Which looked fantastic. I am so relieved that the visit went so great and just so proud of my little girl!

A day in the city

On Wednesday, I got to go into the city. Mostly to go dress shopping with my sister. But also just plain old shopping. And also, a really fun event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I love that place. It's so big and so fabulous. And you can't beat the "suggested donation" for admission. Oh wait, yes you can, with an after-hours exhibition! So we went. And the artist's name is John Baldessari and I've never heard of him before, but it was really cool. Although very very weird.
